How to use the Metronome
Set your tempo with the BPM slider or use the +/− buttons for fine adjustment. Press Start (or hit Space) to begin. Arrow keys also nudge the tempo up and down while the metronome is running.
Choose a time signature — the first beat of each bar is accented louder than the rest. The subdivision buttons let you hear quarter notes, eighth notes, triplets, or sixteenth notes within each beat.
Tip: Practice a difficult passage at 60–70% of performance tempo first. Gradually increase the BPM by 5 each time you play it cleanly. This is the fastest proven method for building muscle memory.
